Guidelines
SDSCO is centered around being a young musician's first string ensemble experience. With this in mind an audition should display:
- An advanced-intermediate level of comfort and proficiency with the instrument.
- Suzuki students should be in book 4 or higher for ages 8-11. Book 3+ may join if the student has decent sight reading skills and is age 12+.
- Video auditions do not need to show a piece from the Suzuki repertoire.
- Video auditions do need to show a performance that displays some early level shifting into higher positions.
- Students must be able to commit to the attendance guidelines and rehearsal/concert schedule.
Audition Requirements
SDSCO accepts two methods for audition:
1) A video of a solo performance
